BASTROP — Firefighting-trained volunteers from around the state converged on Bastrop and Smithville Tuesday to lend a hand to the beleaguered local firefighters battling the Bastrop County Complex Fire — only to be sent away as federal officials arrived at the scene and took command, apparently because local officials never made a formal request for volunteers.

“We were at the station getting set up into strike teams, and this guy came up and said that the U.S. Forest Service had ‘assumed control of the situation, and that ‘If you don’t have a vehicle that squirts water, go home,’” said Gordon Greer of Kirbyville, who drove all night Monday to arrive in the town beset by the worst wildfire in Texas history. “You’ve got guys who had driven all night long from Corpus Christi and Brownsville on their own dime, and they turned them away. He was really a (bleep) about it.

“There was a whole line of beige cars that came in this morning, tinted windows and such,” Greer said.

A spokesperson with the U.S. National Interagency Incident Center, Jennifer Jones, confirmed that federal group of several different agencies would be assuming command in Bastrop County around 1 p.m. Tuesday, but had not done so when the firefighting volunteers were told to leave.

April Saginor with the Texas Forest Service said her agency had not given any such order, to her knowledge, but promised to provide an update later in the day.

The question is apparently one of protocol, however.

The Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management announced via its Facebook account Tuesday afternoon that “Any fire mutual aid requests would always come through (and to) Local, State and National fire service and emergency leadership. This message sent as per Texas Fire Chiefs, TIFMAS, IAFC, USFA and FEMA. If you are a fire fighter wanting to volunteer you have to be activated by the National Forestry Service first.”

Several of the volunteers voiced their displeasure, however, at federal agents taking charge at the scene after appeals by Texas Gov. Rick Perry for federal aid following another series of wildfires earlier this year was turned down.

COLONEL SIXX: OBAMA GAVE NO MONEY TO PALO PINTO COUNTY!

President Obama granted federal disaster declarations for 45 Texas counties following this spring’s wildfires.

But Palo Pinto County was excluded, and local lawmakers want to know why. During the wildfires that spread from the Possum Kingdom area, dozens of homes were destroyed.

“They’re willing to sacrifice the lives of the people of Bastrop just so they can come in here and pull rank,” said Daniel Miller of Nederland, who had led a group of Texas Nationalist Movement members who were certified firefighters to Bastrop from the Beaumont area. Miller said he and several other members of the group would remain in the Bastrop area to aid with civilian relief efforts.

So if the local sheriff and hundreds (or thousands) of deputy guys (all well armed) showed up and said get the ***k out of Texas, you are NOT “in charge”, this is not your land/houses/lives, or you will be tossed in the local clink, what would happen? (You know of course that by law that the local sheriff is always the ranking law officer)

Many would be inclined to think the feds would swoop in and shoot ‘em down and show ‘em who’s boss, but I’m not so sure. Bullies are actually cowards and the ones actually “taking charge” are likely just ego maniacs with plastic panties and big mouths and would have had to beg for help if the locals didn’t just roll over and kiss their (foul, smug, worthless) empty suit back sides.

There would have been a lot of saber rattling and threats, but who’d enforce that? Did the guys “taking charge” actually have the guns and hand cuffs to back up their orders, or were they just relying on the people involved not having the nerve to call their bluff.

Suppose a company of fire fighters just flipped off the feds and went into the area to fight the fire, who would have been available to arrest/cuff them? Some limp-wristed paper shaker from DC?

If we ever want to salvage our country, then we are going to have to actively stand up the the &)^(&*^%^ers from DC coming in and “taking charge” (in violation of the 10th amendment) and destroying private property of citizens and even costing citizen’s lives.

Won’t be pretty but at some point it has to be done. I think there would be an OVERWHELMING outpouring of support. And not just words, but their fellow citizen’s showing up in force to help them fight back.

sad that its come to this

I don’t understand why Texas didn’t raise taxes a long time ago in order to have a rainy day fund.

This isn’t a communist country where socialism is disguised as volunteerism.

If Texas wants to hire me to help put out those fires then I expect my union scale, time and a half for any hours over eight and double time for anything over 12 hours. Otherwise Texas can burn.

aluminum (that they are spreading through geo-engineering) is an accelerant. This is the cause of these wildfires. Have you ever seen anything like it? Curious huh? I live in Australia too, and the NWO is destroying everything. yes, they want us slaves to Monsanto so they can ration out crappy GMO food to us all. Monsanto has the patent for ALUMINUM resistant GMO seeds. So after they kill & burn everything with their stupid aluminum, only THEY will be able to grow food to ration to the peons. This is the tragic reality that people really need to wake up to, and it is NOT only happening in the USA — this crap is global.

  14. Steve says:

Whatever they are trying, their first responsibility is to petty rules and bits of paper. I have been a volunteer fireman and have learnt by doing it in the face of official attempts to tend to the rules and regs first, that fires are something which need to be given top priority, and worry about the bits of paper and rules for later. The fact is however that everything the Feds turn their attention to in the USA, quickly becomes ratshit at an exponential rate, so prepare for thew wqorst now I’d say.

  15. Steve says:

    Yes you’ve got it.

  16. Steve says:

You write as if you think the Feds screw up as a result of incompetence as an accident. Incompetent they may be but from here it seems they never intended to make things better, but always seem to be in charge of escalating any disaster and ensuring the maximum amount of harm to life and freedom are exerted. The deliberate destruction of the USA is so obvious seen from here in Australia it is stunning that so many of you don’t see it.

  17. Matthew de Lellis says:

Maybe the Governor ought to send the Feds packing and allow the locals to deal with what is happening in their own neighborhood. The “Feds” are far to quick to arrive and “take command”. Well, SCREW the FEDS. Their “management” is quite questionable on every level,…..so someone ought to tell them the EFF OFF and GO HOME.

I love my country, but I really detest the Federal Govt. these day. They screw up absolutely EVERYTHING they get involved in. Best solution is NOT involve them or accept their involvement.

  18. allovertheplace says:

Agreed. You people in Texas had better get things in motion because your area of the country has a much better mindset as reared our problems than does mine. But…people are waking up.

  19. Awakeand Aware says:

This is really about Agenda 21, and the ‘Re-wilding’ of the land; permanently removing folks, forcing them into Stack-N-Packs in crowded cities. The PTB want the land to themselves, returning to some sort of Paradise for them to frolic in. However, they will gladly destroy it first through weather Geo-engineering; and gutting what little disaster aide the state has left.

It’s about destroying crops so folks are dependent on Monsanto and other insidious GMO nut jobs for their Franken-Foods. It’s about the NWO but too many people don’t want to wake up and stop it.

Alright, so they could have been more polite about it, but it’s not the USFS’s fault that people drove all night without being asked.

They’re probably trying to make sure they know for certain that everybody on site is properly trained and equipped, and can coordinate them effectively without adding a fleet of well-meaning but possibly unpredictable civilians to the operation.
